PR Manager

We’re looking for a PR Manager for UK&I to be a part of our Marketing team and be responsible for driving PR and influencer coverage within the region.

  • Hitting revenue, family acquisition and retention targets
  • Management of brand, product and corporate communication with new and existing B2C and B2B customers

About Yoto

Yoto is a screen-free interactive audio platform for kids. We make carefully connected audio players that kids control, with no microphones, cameras or ads. We have a catalogue of audio that inspires creative play and learning with 1,000+ titles in our card store from top creators, publishers and labels - think LEGO, Disney, Marvel, Roald Dahl and Sony. Yoto’s Marketing Team

We are a tight knit, but fast growing, team with experience across a wide range of sectors and disciplines. Some of us are generalists, and some specialists. We do most work in house, but also use agencies where needed. As a team and company, we are customer obsessed. Everyone in the team is passionate about building and nurturing our community.

The Yoto marketing team is spread across the US, UK and France and we look after a lot including brand strategy, customer acquisition, retention, campaign development, copywriting, retail marketing, communications, social and community. We work closely with most other teams, but particularly our friends in the product, creative and content teams.


What you’ll be doing:

  • Development and ongoing management of the UK&I PR plan as part of the regional and global marketing plans
  • Writing and distributing press releases

  • Working in close collaboration with colleagues (Marketing, Social, Performance, Brand, Retention) to successfully promote relevant campaigns and stories to the press

  • Working closely with the content team, publishers (from Penguin Random House to Universal Music Group and Disney) and other licence holders to develop appropriate communication around releases

  • Working with external partners including but not limited to Luxury Family Hotels, Merlin Entertainments and World Book Day.

  • Working with the global teams to launch new products and brand campaigns in market

  • Finding and developing press-worthy stories around projects and other activity within Yoto

  • Developing strategic partnerships with like minded brands and organisations with the objective of driving PR coverage

  • Management of PR related events with marketing colleagues

  • Developing relationships and running campaigns with talent, influencers and their agents/representatives, plus recruitment and management of PR/Influencer affiliates

  • Executing corporate communications campaigns as relevant

  • Periodical reporting of PR results and effectiveness

What success looks like in this role:

  • An interesting and varied PR plan that supports Yoto’s visibility in press, with yearly growth of consumer coverage in high circulating, relevant UK & Irish press

  • A roster of strong relationships with existing partners and press

  • Maintaining and developing new networking both internally at Yoto, and externally with Yoto champions, key press, top affiliates, Talent and their agents

  • Excellent working relationships with Marketing, Content, Product and Brand teams both in local markets and wider global teams

What you’ll bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in Consumer and Lifestyle PR
  • Inhouse PR management experience (desirable, but not required)
  • Experience managing household consumer brands’s PR strategy and coverage
  • Stakeholder management experience, expertly building and managing internal and external relationships
  • A Positive “can-do” attitude with excellent attention to detail
  • An understanding of marketing children’s products to parents would be a bonus
  • A passion for audio content and technology
  • Ability to think on your feet, work autonomously and learn fast
  • Ideally you also have people management experience

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 based on experience
