Yoto’s Content Team
Content is at the heart of our business, and we have a dedicated team of children’s media specialists – with experience across publishing, music, education, rights, and audio production – who carefully consider every title that makes it into our library. We licence existing audio from some of the biggest names in the world of kids’ entertainment (Penguin Random House, Disney, Macmillan and more), and also develop and produce our own content as part of our Yoto Originals range.
What you’ll be doing:
Reporting to the Head of Content Acquisition in the UK, you will ensure our global catalogue of children’s audio remains best-in-class.
Your job will be dynamic and varied, working across licensed audiobooks from character brands to heritage publishing and will involve managing and nurturing existing publisher and licensor relationships: This includes but is not limited to:
Reviewing audio content for acquisition and publication
Curating new titles from select partners’ lists to add to Yoto’s audiobook library
Negotiating new deals and renewals with existing partners
Creating financial forecasts (P&Ls) and approving all publisher royalty reporting
Running internal and external meetings to ensure all licensor and partner needs are met
Liaising with marketing teams to brainstorm opportunities for upcoming releases and backlist titles
Submitting new initiatives for partners’ approval
Gathering and sharing data about trends and needs in the kids’ audiobook space
Scouting for new children’s audio content and publisher / licensor partners to build a diverse, commercial library
Working with our legal team to ensure timely execution of contracts with audiobook publishers
Working closely with the Content Coordinator to ensure timely delivery of all assets
Coordinating internal processes with different departments including creating presentations for the wider Yoto team about licensed audiobooks
Attending partner events on behalf of Yoto and reporting back to the team
What you’ll bring:
- A minimum of 6 years in children’s editorial or children’s media acquisition
- Established relationships with publishers and licensors
- A demonstrable passion for children's audio with an eye on audio trends and the children’s media landscape
- Comfortable juggling a diverse, fast-paced workload and an ability to own your projects and relationships
- A keen eye for detail, with high editorial standards
- Exceptional communication skills – with the ability to build strong links internally and with our partners
- Ease converting leads into deals and handling rights negotiations
- Ability to work across different software platforms such as Office Suite and Google Suite, Dropbox, Box, Slack, Monday.com, to name a few!
- Familiarity with contracts and legal publishing language
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 based on experience.

- Flexibility: Hybrid working with a choice based approach - we would love you to come into the office as much as possible, with a minimum of once or twice a month. Take advantage of our ‘work from anywhere’ policy to work from a different location for up to 6 weeks every year. Summer Hours policy to use between the months of June and August.
